Pupil Aspirations – A Residency at Littletown Junior, Infants & Nursery School

Pupils destined for Secondary School were encouraged to think about the transition and record their aspirations for the future. This concept was the starting point for a series of site specific suspended sculptures, designed for the school they were leaving behind. The designs became focussed around embarking on a new journey. Some pupils represented themselves as super hero style characters whereas others elected to represent themselves taking flight.

The making process began with the heads…

Tricks of the trade –hair making…

Mid evaluation. Are we following our designs?

What would we wear on our flight?

The glamorous flyer

Flight goggles often a must!

Heads galore waiting to be attached to bodies

Bodies ready for heads…and shoes, boots or toes?
