A transition project with Year 6 pupils. The project was designed to enable Year 6 pupils to leave a positive mark on their school before leaving for Secondary school. The project was based around the theme of a journey to symbolise a pupil’s journey in learning through school.
Pupils designed and constructed their own weird and wonderful vehicles
They each created their own fantasy creature as well as a vehicle or travelling device to carry it on its journey. They used a wide variety of materials to construct with including wire, air dry clay, fabric scraps, tissue paper, found and collected objects.
The finished models were carefully displayed so that they looked at their best. Pupils and teachers then voted for the model that they wanted to be used as inspiration for the final school sculpture.
The Finished School Sculpture was presented to the school during an assembly so that all the school felt included in the project.
